Clients

The need for closeness and connection is universal. Therefore clients come from a variety of circumstances and challenges to receive support from The Attachment Center.

Individuals may come to examine patterns they bring to relationships that continue to challenge them in regard to building healthy relationships romantically, in their community, and with themselves. An individual may also seek support for depression, anxiety, phobias, or support for changes in their lives.

Couples attend sessions when they also feel stuck, and their relationships are either not fulfilling or they are considering separation or divorce. The Attachment Center offers hope as well as a research-based approach to re-establishing and strengthening the love and friendship that brought the two of them together to begin with.

Families (biological, step, and adoptive) may enter sessions as a result of feeling hopeless about changing the dynamics at home, or they may just be looking to improve the closeness and support so essential within a family. Often times, therapy may be sought out because one child is depressed, oppositional, anxious, or angry and the parents want help for their child as well as clues on how to work with their child at home. The approach that is most successful in working with children is a systems approach. Therapy includes the child and parents so there can be continued support and follow through at home between sessions.
